What are multifocal glasses?
If you need glasses for reading or close-up viewing, multifocal or progressive lenses provide you with sharp vision both near and far in one pair of glasses. This way, you don’t have to constantly take your glasses off and on, change your glasses, or look over your reading glasses when you want to see clearly at multiple distances.
How do multifocal glasses work?
The upper part of the multifocal lens has the diopter needed for sharp distance vision, and the lower part has the diopter needed for sharp near vision. The far and near fields of vision of the lens are connected by a continuous, uninterrupted diopter transition, which is called a “channel”. Progressive lenses also provide you with sharp vision at intermediate distances in this channel.

What is the difference between multifocal lenses?
Progressive lenses vary from entry-level to premium quality in the following features:
• Channel width. The transition between the diopters of the far and near vision fields. The greater the difference between the far and near diopters, the stronger the intermediate transition channel and the narrowing of the visual field, which can give an uncomfortable wearing sensation. With a wider channel, the sense of space is more comfortable and requires less head turning, for example, when reading up close.
• Comfort of getting used to. All progressive glasses require getting used to. The higher the quality of the multifocal lens, the easier and faster the adaptation, and the more natural the wearing experience.
• Custom-made lenses. The more sophisticated a multifocal lens is, the more comfort features it has. These include, in addition to the diopters required for visual acuity, individually configurable parameters, such as the exact dimensions of the eyeglass frame adjusted to your facial anatomy, its inclination angles, curvatures, and the distance between your cornea and the eyeglass lenses. The more data we can provide during production, the more comfortable and larger field of vision we can create for you.
• Surface treatment. Isn't it important to you how long your new glasses will withstand scratches and everyday use? All glasses are objects of use, and none of them last forever. If you want progressive glasses, they should be long-lasting.
This is how your progressive glasses will give you the perfect vision experience:
In order for your multifocal glasses to give you the best possible vision experience, we need to know exactly how you want to use them.
To do this, we will ask the following questions:
• Would you use your glasses mostly for distance vision or for reading? Or in equal proportions?
• How critical are you about your glasses? Have you ever worn progressive glasses? If so, what are your experiences and what would you change about them?
• How do you usually read, what is the natural head position that would be comfortable for reading?
